A Note from Katie
Welcome to the first edition of the Denver Farmstand!
I started this newsletter because I love helping out farmers and attending events that bring me closer to my food and where it is grown, but there was never a single place that showed me what opportunities were out there to support local farms around Denver.
Farmers already have more on their plate than most people realize (growing, harvesting, marketing, selling, running a business, often all at once), and getting the word out about a farm event or volunteer opportunity is another thing on the list. Grants and institutional support for small farms and food organizations keep shrinking too, so if this community is going to hold together, it's going to be because the community itself shows up for it.
I've seen how real that risk is up close. I took the farmer training program through GoFarm a few years ago, and I have watched as some of my classmates put everything into their farms and still ended up walking away. And then this year, GoFarm itself closed its doors too.
That's the gap Denver Farmstand is meant to fill: a bridge between the farms growing our food and the people who want to support them. I'm really glad you're here for it!
Best,
~Katie

Farm Spotlight
Lakewood, CO
Sugar Boot Farm Co.
I met Stacey during the GoFarm Farmer Training Program classes where she was a farmer incubator. Her farm located in Lakewood grows lush florals and colorful veggies grown on the front range, for the front range. You can find her flowers and produce at the Golden Farmer’s Market on Saturdays.
Sponsored by Farmer-Approved Local Partners
In each edition of the Denver Farmstand, I will be looking for a sponsoring local partner that uses ingredients grown right here in Colorado in their products or services. Each sponsoring partner will come with a letter of a support from a Colorado farm and will pay a small fee to share their goods with our amazing audience. If you or someone you know is interested in being featured, please reach out!
Become a Local Partner
Denver Farmstand's Local Partner Program spotlights the Denver-metro restaurants and local makers putting real Colorado-grown ingredients on the table. Each sponsoring partner receives a listing on our vendor page (coming soon), newsletter mentions, and Instagram shoutouts. Basic starts at $10/month, with Featured and Founding Partner tiers for businesses that want a monthly mention too.
